GARY PLAYER JOINS LANDMAR FOR GRAND REOPENING OF THE GRAND CLUB COURSE

Palm Coast, Fla. – Golf legend Gary Player recently teed off to celebrate the grand reopening of the Cypress Course and clubhouse at The Grand Club, a joint venture between LandMar and Hampton Golf that features country club amenities, as well as three championship golf courses designed by Player and Arnold Palmer. At the grand reopening event, Player hosted a golf clinic and played the inaugural round on the newly renovated course.

“It was an honor to host one of golf’s most respected icons as he celebrated the opening of his newly designed course by playing the first round amidst our Grand Club members,” LandMar Regional Manager Jim Cullis said. “The Cypress Course is a reflection of Player’s impeccable style and will allow our members the opportunity to play on one of Florida’s finest golf courses.”

Guests at the event enjoyed a walking tour of the course while Player and six auction winners from a previous event played the ceremonial first round. Following the round, Player joined guests for a cocktail hour and silent auction. The event and silent auction raised nearly $4,000 for the Palm Coast chapter of the Monique Burr Foundation for Children, a non-profit organization founded by LandMar that exists to spread awareness of and prevent child abuse.

LandMar invited members of The Grand Club along with future residents and prospects from its newest Palm Coast community, Grand Landings, to attend the celebration. The event commenced sales at Grand Landings and many guests converted their reservations into sales.

The Cypress Course, along with the Matanzas Course and the Pine Course, were acquired by LandMar in 2004 as part of the company’s innovative, comprehensive lifestyle concept – The Grand Club. LandMar and Hampton Golf have made extensive renovations to each of the courses and their facilities. Once renovations are complete, members of The Grand Club, including residents of Grand Landings, will enjoy three fully renovated golf courses – two designed by Arnold Palmer and one by Gary Player. Grand Club members can also utilize a variety of world-class amenities at several communities that are all within a short drive of each other.

To visit the new Cypress Course, take I-95 to exit 289 (Palm Coast Parkway exit) and drive west on Palm Coast Parkway. At the third light, turn left on Belle Terre Parkway.  Continue for approximately five miles and turn right on to Easthampton Boulevard. The clubhouse will be about one mile ahead.
